This past week, I aided The Health Museum by working in their summer camp division that I prepared for last week. This exciting challenge forced me to interact with students in elementary school and facilitate a safe and fun environment to foster scientific exploration. We conducted experiments from creating slime to coke explosions all while explaining the chemistry behind these cool interactive science projects. Most of the days consisted of cleaning up after students but every now and then a student would ponder the meaning of experiments and I was able to fulfill their curiosity. This intellectual fun reminded me of the value of my first interactions with scientific study and only motivates me to seek more knowledge. Next week, I hope to continue working on these summer camps and further my understanding of applications in science in real life with their forensics unit. Furthermore, I hope to speak to some of the exhibit designers about some ideas I have to include in their exhibits.
