Knowledge Gaps

One of the more interesting experiments and demonstrations I got to participate in was a goat heart dissection. We aided the mini scientists in properly cutting a perfect cross-section of the heart to display the different structures. Another cool item the museum provided was a synthetic cadaver to show where all the body systems are in humans. I have never seen a cadaver up close before, and Fran was efficient at finding and showing where every vital organ in her lecture was. I hope to reach that same level of knowledge of the human body by working with her more and learning her methods of memorization.
In exhibit tech news, I helped fix minor issues such as laptops shutting down and phones not charging properly. However, I heard a rumor that we may change our role to be more research-oriented for their new exhibit. This would entail more exhibit curating in the job description rather than fixing already known problems. I have reached out to the people who are overseeing this change in hopes of an advanced start on the job. I am excited to see what types of exhibits I can create using the limited resources from the museum.
