This past week I have begun working and learning at The Health Museum. First, I performed the science experiments available in the Debakey Cell Lab in order to be able to assist guests in learning about the exercises and reproducing the optimal observations. My favorite one so far was the DNA Extraction experiment due to the delicate nature and visible nature of the DNA.

Another assignment I was given was the Discovery Carts. In this task I created an interactive portable cart that roamed the museum and provided extraneous information regarding one of the chosen topics such as a deep analysis of the heart. Interacting with young students and attentive parents proved to be a gratifying experience seeing their eyes gleam with pride as they learned new information. I hope to continue seeking this pleasure found in learning together.

Later in the week, I learned more about how exhibits are created and maintained. I worked in the new AI exhibit, troubleshooting interactives that would aid in teaching guests about artificial intelligence. Furthermore, I helped optimize some of the interactives through group discussion and experimentation. I also collaborated with other interns and the exhibit director to creatively discuss the placement of more informative questions and the overall design of the exhibit. I am most excited to see where these informative ideas lead and hope to eventually aid in desigining future exhibits.
