Becoming Involved

Week three was filled with invoice after invoice. I learned a lot of medical and legal terminology in order to answer questions and emails. Furthermore, I aided in trying to fix the fax issues with one of the computers.

The most exciting moment of this week had to be when I shadowed the medical assistant doing preop which prepped the patients for their operations. I learned how to properly answer the questions of the patient how to record data and information and how to get some patient history. Also, I worked with Dr. Satija and Miguel to perform a bilateral shoulder injection. All of this information and processes were completely new to me and very interesting to learn.

Every day at the clinic I learn a new piece of information whether it is medical or business related. I hope that this trend continues and as I progress I am able to learn more about the industry and how individual clinics work.
